HOW DO I GET PAID

How will I get paid?

When another user buys your resource, the payment will be processed and your royalties will then be added to your balance. You can view your balance in the ‘Uploads’ tab of your ‘My resources’ page when logged into your kcpe-kcse account.

You have the option of sending your earnings directly to your chosen bank account by clicking ‘Cash’. The money will be available a minimum of around 5 working days after the claim date.

How much of the cost of the resource can I expect to receive?

You can expect to get 60 per cent of the price of your resources, so Ksh 60 on a ksh 100 sale. Currently the remaining 40 per cent will go towards paying VAT, transaction fees and our administration costs.

When will I get paid?

You can choose to withdraw your royalties when your balance reaches a minimum of Ksh 1000. When this happens depends on how many resources you have sold, as well as how much you are selling them for.

What is a royalty?

A royalty is a fee that you will receive for licensing the use of your resource to each individual buyer. The size of your royalty will depend on what you are charging for your resource, but you can expect to receive 60 per cent of the price.

Do I have to pay tax?

Yes, you should always declare any income derived from selling resources.
